Your First Visit

When you arrive

There is a car park at the Community Centre within the perimeter fence.

Come in through the main door and you will be greeted and shown where to go. We normally meet in the Centre's main hall, which is to the left as you enter the foyer.

You are welcome to sit wherever you like and if you have very small children there is usually a box of books and quieter toys towards the back of the hall that you may find useful.

What happens

Our meetings usually start with a welcome and then a time of praise, which is singing, accompanied by modern music (piano, drums & guitars), with the words projected on a screen.

There is usually Communion on Sunday mornings, which is similar to the Anglican Communion service, with the bread and wine offered to all the congregation by those in the church who have been asked to serve by the leader of the service that morning. We do this as a remembrance of Jesus' death on the cross; there are no mystical properties in the wafer and fruit juice.

There will be a time of teaching or encouragement from the Bible and we usually make time to pray for those with needs.

Sunday morning services usually last until around 12.10pm, while evenings are more varied in content but usually finish around 7.15pm. However, you should feel free to leave whenever you want. After the evening service there is a time for refreshments, with opportunity to chat to one another.

Children are welcome On Sunday mornings there is usually a Sunday School time when children from babies to age 13 can go out to their own activities during the adult teaching time. We have a separate Tiddlywinks group for pre-schoolers and activities for older children with singing, crafts, and bible stories.
We all start the morning service together, then at some point during the service the start of the children's group is announced from the front, and children and workers leave to go to their separate room. We are happy for parents to go out with their very young children if this is wished.
