My Story: local people tell their own stories

I went to church all my life and in 2004 our family moved to Edenthorpe. A while later a member of the church gave me a small book and on the last page was a prayer that I could use to ask Jesus to become my best friend. I prayed it inside my head and on the line below wrote the date: Friday 14th July 2006. I have been a Christian for nearly 3 years now and was baptised on Saturday 24th January 2009.

God has helped me by giving me confidence to admit at school that I am a Christian and go to church, especially recently. I help in two of the children's Treasure Kids clubs and lots of other children's events. They are a great experience and I have made lots of friends through it.

God helps me feel happier in myself and see the good things in life rather than the bad. This has made me enjoy my life much more, including school! I hope to gain more in my knowledge of God and get to know him as my friend even better. Also I hope to be able to speak out with other people more and share my faith with non-Christians.
